The
Big Build

The Upcycle Kernow Retrofit
Well folks, this is it! We're so excited that it actually happened!
Our amazing little workshop has finally been transformed and retro fitted with eco building materials, to become a light filled, WARM, purpose built and future proofed studio and workshop!
Complete with wheelchair access toilets and kitchen, and that all important door at the other end of the building!

For those of you who don't know, we've been lucky enough to receive (after lots of caffeine fuelled sessions staring at spreadsheets) a substantial amount of grant funding from the
UK Shared Prosperity Fund to completely retrofit and upcycle our building.

Our female-led team consisted of Social Designs CIC - a crew of women trading under the BushCraft name, who have not only deconstructed the building, but have painstakingly, putting it back together!

Frances, of Crow Architecture
and, Andrea of Lane Architects
have created an amazing
design for our building, along with some much needed outside space, using only
eco-friendly, recyclable or recycled/reused items.

Alongside Frances, Fran and Andrea, we worked with Pink Pebble Consulting to overcome a huge range of issues - from asbestos, mundic and wood rot - we do like a challenge!
