Service Description

This is a great workshop to learn about your overlocker, and how to work with Jersey Fabrics. Using tried and tested patterns from DarkStar Designers, creator and designer Liz Williams from Dark Star Design, will take you through her tried and tested patterns to construct a pair of comfy pants. These will be made from Jersey with bands around the legs and waist and consist of 2 style options and waist heights to ensure the best fit for all sizes. This is the ideal workshop to learn how your overlocker works, gaining hints and tips from a professional seamstress. We do have a small supply of overlockers, however, we ask that you please supply your own, as it is easier to deal with the quirks of your own machine than try to fathom out another. All fabrics will be supplied, but should you have any stretch jersey you'd like to use for the project please do bring it along. Entry into the workshop is by suggested donation of £3 per session (yes that’s just £3!) which helps towards the running costs of the classes. This is a suggested donation, so if you are unable to cover the costs, please do get in touch and we will create a space for you for free. These workshops are part of our TeXInnovation Partnership with Cultivate Communities CIC and the University of Exeter, and are funded by the National Lottery Community Action Fund. This means that places are strictly limited, therefore as per our T&C's, we require 48 hours notice (at least) to cancel your place. Any "no shows" will be invoiced at the full amount of the course (£45 per person) as we cannot allow these places to go unused. Thank you for your understanding in this matter!
