Service Description
A lovely relaxing evening, exploring some of the beautiful techniques used within the Japanese art of sashimi stitching and boro mending. A chance to delve into history and culture, and immerse yourself into age-old techniques that are essential in today's repair and re-wear culture. In this class we will help you plan out your design using your favourite scraps of materials and incorporate the traditional boro mending techniques to create a bespoke hand crafted piece to use where you wish - as an appliqué on a bag or a repairing patch. The cost of the workshop is £25 and will include all your materials, patterns and equipment, and should you wish to incorporate your favourite textile scraps please bring them along! We will also supply you with hand outs, designs and ideas that you can take away and use in future projects at home. And of course, we'll keep you topped up with tea and biscuits throughout the evening.
