Make Your Own Marine Debris Art
Time & Location
About the Event
Make your own nurdle seed head for your home with marine debris artist Michelle Costello from @smartie_lids_on_the_beach using pellets of raw plastic found on Porthtowan beach. We will use a tweezers and a dot of glue to place the pellets on a hand drawn seed head. One frame is included with the workshop but you can make more than one seed head to take away and frame yourself or spare frames will be available to buy at £5 each. Box frames measure 18x18cm. Michelle has lots of experience running workshops and will make this experience fun and informative. Michelle has a wealth of marine debris knowledge and will endeavour to answer any questions you may have about plastic washed up our beaches, she will even bring some lego and her collection of smartie lids for you to look at. Michelle can draw your seed head or you can try it yourself. There will be a couple of alternative ideas for you to try to create, including dragonflies and turtles. You can bring your own beach clean plastic items but they must be clean and dry.
Workshop lasts for 2hrs and will include tea or coffee and biscuits, as well as 1 frame and all your other equipment and materials , and costs £20.
Face masks must be worn.
