About the Event
Using your sewing machine as an artists tool to draw textile pictures, Artist Maria Donnelly from In Stitches will guide you through each of the stages to create your own pieces of unique textile art.
The workshop will guide you through your machine specifications, and explain how to use aids such as Sissix machines, stitch and tear, bondaweb etc. as well as how to get the best from the accents & tones within your chosen fabrics.
There will be a variety of patterns available for you to follow as we take you through each of the stages, but the idea is that you design and complete your own pieces of art. We do have an accumulation of reclaimed textiles etc for you to use, but please bring along any fabrics, threads, buttons or trims you have in your stash that inspire you.
We do have a few machines available for use, but we advise you bring along your own (which should have the feed dogs lowered or covered) and an applique foot, so that you can learn the quirks of your own machine.
The cost of the day is £55, and this will include access to our fabric stash and items such as bondaweb, stitch & tear etc.
The day will run from 11am until 3.30pm, Saturday 10th July at Upcycle Kernow, and will include a light vegan lunch and tea & coffee.
Bookings can be made by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Looking forward to getting creative with you, and if you'd like any other details, please get in touch!
