About the Event

During the 4 hour workshop, you will learn the tricks, tips and techniques to make a piece of felted textile art, 

using the wet felting technique. This piece of textile art can be framed as a picture, or could be used to cover a favourite journal or note book, or could also be used as part of a bigger project, such as upcycling clothing, or for panels in handmade bags and accessories.

Felting is the process of connecting or blending wool, wool roving or fibres together to make a fabric. Each piece of handmade felt is completely unique because the many intricacies of each lock of wool, how it has been handled and its impact within your design.

The workshop is suitable for beginners and you will be encouraged to create your own design with guidance on colours and patterns from Kerrie if required.

The cost of the workshop is £50, and includes all materials, equipment and ppe.  If you do have any fibres, shrunken jumpers, pieces of yarn or shreds of saris that you would like to incorporate into your design, or that you would like to share with the group, please do bring them along.  A light vegan lunch is also included in the workshop, please advise of any other dietary requirements when booking.  Bookings can be made by contacting upcyclekernow@gmail.com.
